Welcome to Utah Buddhist Fellowships Online, a new virtual practice community that started with the Salt Lake Buddhist Fellowship in Millcreek.
The Utah Buddhist Fellowship Online Sangha is made up of folks from all walks of American life. Our fellowship is a lay-led, all-inclusive, non-discriminating trans-sectarian Sangha influenced by the Pure Land Buddhist tradition and the teachings of Gyomay and Koyo Kubose. Our organization focuses on the universal teachings of Gautama Buddha, the historical Buddha. Our approach follows the teachings of the Way of Oneness, a unique form of American Buddhism developed by Venerable Rev. Gyomay Kubose based on the Shin-Zen tenets and teachings of Japanese Mahayana Buddhism. At the same time, we are administrative, financially and politically independent and not part of any formal organizational hierarchy, but our spiritual leader is a Sensei with the Bright Dawn Center for Oneness Buddhism. We have been meeting for five years in the Salt Lake City area and this is a new venture into the online environment.
Over the years many have wanted to attend our fellowship more often then their busy lives would allow and other lived simply too far away to participate. Here is our attempt to be able to reach those of you who have asked. Now whether you are halfway across the country or just find it easier now and then to watch online or to catch up with past talks or even each other.
The Online Sangha will include the following
Weekly Record Dharma talks from the Salt Lake Buddhist Fellowship Gathering
Once a month weekly live gathering which will evolve into a weekly meeting.
Facilitated opportunities for connection through “Dining with Dharma” for those close to one another.
Short Dharma Glimpses – from community members sharing their practices and insight
An Online Intro to Buddhism Course – (TBD)
Additional Resources for Practice.
